Welcome, competitors, to the Collegiate Rocket League Open! We’re looking for students of all skill levels across the United States and Canada to get involved and represent their schools in the Rocket League arena. Students currently enrolled, or who will be enrolled in the upcoming Fall semester, are eligible to compete.
Once you have a registered an account on Compete and verified your student status you can either create a new team, or join an existing open team from your school. If you don’t see any existing open teams from your school you can create one that will be displayed first to all other users from your school. Registration will remain open for the entirety of the tournament. Only teams who are registered before the weekly matches are assigned will be eligible to play for that week. If your student email or school is new to our system, please allow up to 24 hours for them to be approved. We encourage your school to designate an Official Team Manager. Once your team has three (3) or more eligible participants it will be added to our leaderboard.
Weekly Match Opt-in
Teams will play in weekly matchmade battles, with teams choosing to play zero (0) or three (3) matches. Every week, we will ask teams to give us the number of matches they want to play the following week. After every team has their desired amount of games, our internal matchmaking system will assign teams their opponents, who will be of similar skill or rank.
All eligible teams that respond to the opt-in email will be assigned matches. The outcomes of these matches influence your leaderboard standing via an internal MMR system. At the conclusion of the fourth week, the top sixteen (16) teams from each region will be entered into the Wildcard Invitational: a single elimination tournament to determine the top two (2) teams from each region. These top two (2) teams will enter their conference playoff bracket as wildcards. The breakdown of regions can be found here.
