Region Definitions

If your college or university is located in one of the following states, provinces, or territories, you qualify to compete in the corresponding Regional Division.

North: Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Manitoba, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Nunavut, Ohio, Ontario, Saskatchewan, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Wyoming

East: Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Brunswick, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Nova Scotia, Pennsylvania, Prince Edward Island, Québec, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia

South: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas

Regular Season (Swiss)

Swiss matches will be assigned weekly. These matches can be rescheduled for any time before the default start times listed below. To avoid confusion, please be aware of your time zone and remember to account for time changes. The format for this season will be best-of-5 Conquest, without a shield phase. 

North will play one more round due to meeting an attendance threshold. Or goal is to ensure that all teams with 2 or fewer losses in the regular season advance to playoffs. This extra round ensures that all teams with 2 losses or fewer advance to the double elimination Regional Playoffs in the North division. 

 The final day for roster swaps is October 6, 2019.

All teams that finish in the top 32 of their Regional Division will advance to Regional Playoffs.

First week of matches are scheduled to start on Monday, September 16, with select matches live streamed at twitch.tv/playhearthstone starting at 5pm PT. 

Regional Playoffs (Double Elimination)

The top 32 teams from each regional division will be seeded by performance into a 32 team Double Elimination Bracket. Teams who lose two rounds will be eliminated from the tournament and will not play in rounds beyond the one they receive their second loss in. The top 4 teams from each regional group will advance. The South and West regions will play on Saturday and North and East regions will play on Sunday.

Championship Bracket Week 1 (Dual Elimination)

The top 4 teams from each regional group will be seeded by performance into one of four Dual Elimination groups. Each Dual Elimination group will include one team from each regional group. Teams will play up to three rounds. Teams with two losses will be eliminated. Teams with two wins will advance to Week 2 of the championship bracket. Select matches from this stage will be broadcast.

Championship Bracket Week 2 (Dual Elimination)

The top 2 teams from each Week 1 Dual Elimination group will be seeded by performance into one of two Week 2 Dual Elimination groups. Teams will play up to three rounds. Teams with two losses will be eliminated. Teams with two wins will advance to Single Elimination Finals.

Start times below. All matches will be streamed one after the other until end. For example, the first match in group 1 will play on broadcast at the time listed below, when the first match is completed, the second match will begin play on broadcast, and so on. All matches in this phase will be featured on broadcast. Broadcast is compulsory during this phase.
