We challenge your school to rally the best Overwatch players on campus to participate in our twelve-week competition: the 2019-2020 Overwatch Collegiate Championship: Preseason! This preseason tournament will affect the schedules and standings for the rest of the Season that will take place in spring of 2020.
Multiple teams will be allowed to represent a school for the preseason tournament but only one team may represent a school for the impending Season. To help your school find the best players, we encourage you to designate a Team Manager who will help organize your team’s roster, schedule practices, and work with Tespa to ensure your team fully represents the strength of your school. To learn more about Team Managers, click to our Official Rules here.
Schedule & Format
Teams can choose to opt-in to two weekly matches with the default time taking place on Sunday. Teams will play against opponents of similar skill level as determined by a preseason leaderboard. The leaderboard’s results will then contribute to the initial standings of the Overwatch Collegiate Championship’s Regular Season in the Spring. To view a more detailed schedule of the event, visit the schedule tab here.
Once you’ve registered an account on Compete and verified your Student Status, you can either create a new team or join any open team from your school. If your school email was recently added to our system, it may take up to 24 hours for an admin to verify it before you are able to register.
Team Registration does not close, but there will be deadline periods each week during the Preseason. Teams can add new players and edit their lineup except during roster locking periods.
All Participants who are registered as a Player, Captain, Substitute, or Team Manager on any team that participates in at least 12 assigned matches will receive a custom Overwatch-themed lanyard with an approximate retail value of $5.00 USD.
